Is it amazing or just insane that so many citizens have differing rights depending on the state they live within?
The Constitution protects a person's right to free speech, but some states - hello Florida - now remove books from libraries because the community fears the words in those books. That's a right the state protects - a state's right.
And, of course, there's abortion, which is an issue that ebbs and flows on its severity defending on a state's interpretation of that issue.
What if states had specific rights to tax their citizens, and monitor basic rights, but not larger issues such as abortion, and that issue was settled on behalf of the nation? That would be a way forward to New America, where everyone has the same rights.
