Are Pronouns the Prohibition of the 21st Century?

Are Pronouns the Prohibition of the 21st Century?

Across human history it's hard to imagine a point where alcohol was deemed a crime, but that's what Americans voted for just 100 years ago.

Americans wanted to rid themselves of alcohol and its effects so much so that they put it into the Constitution through the 18th Amendment in 1919.

Ultimately, it didn't work, and people viewed alcohol as something that brought them together and made the nation happier. The 21st Amendment passed in 1933 and repealed the 18th so that people could turn alcohol into the social and capitalist force it is today.

So, does the increasing usage of Pronouns by many liberal organizations and individuals fit into the role of Prohibition from 100 years ago?

People see Pronouns as a force for respecting identity in a society that's very challenged to respect identity because there's such a movement to expand identity beyond just men and women. Non-binary has become a huge issue for many conservative citizens. Transgender individuals and rights are significantly challenging for many people.

Within the New America Party the issue of Pronoun usage ends up being a talking point for whether they actually play a divisive role in society so much so that they should be abandoned much like the 18th Amendment was abandoned a decade later.

The rights of LGBTQ citizens don't have to be affected, but Pronouns figure to be a talking point for candidates in the 2026 Election, and this party figures to be for the repeal of Pronoun usage much like American were for the repeal of the 18th Amendment in 1933.
