Israel needs an amazing path forward

It wasn’t all that long ago that Israel owned the Sinai Peninsula following its 1967 Six-Day War with Egypt.

A decade later, Israel gave the territory back, after a long weekend/week of negotiations in the U.S. at Camp David led by U.S. President Jimmy Carter. It was a historic event.

So, why can’t Israel figure out how to be friends with all its neighbors nearly 60 years later?

There’s a ton of hatred wrapped up in the region, but a fair question is how much has that been instigated by Israel through failed negotiations?

The current war with Hamas, and now Iran, is not doing Israel nor the U.S. any favors on a peaceful future.

A New America Party objective will be to get Israel to be less of a hated nation to its neighbors, something that will require truly amazing efforts by Israel itself. And other nations, such as Saudi Arabia.

So, where is Saudi Arabia in all this mess that the world calls the ‘Middle East’?

Why cannot the Kind of Saudi Arabia play some role in peaceful negotiations between Israel and the Middle East?

Where is the King of Jordan on all the wartime issues?

Israel has a right to defend itself, but it’s treatment of the Palestinian population it controls is not one it wants to show off to the world because it’s very bad. But, the rest of the Middle East just seems to want to let whatever happen and not be involved; at least that’s the view from behind a television in the U.S.

The New America Party is for promoting more non-stop negotiations that will find a peaceful way for Israel to co-exist with its neighbors, and the Palestinians it controls. That’s a goal that’s thousands of years in the making.
