Bernie's socialism is a storm in motion

Bernie Sanders created a term for a political party in the last decade - Democratic Socialism - that has made an impact on the nation.

The Democratic Socialist Party of America has chapters in all 50 states and promotes itself as "the largest socialist organization in the United States." Trouble is, the U.S. is not a socialist nation.

American Democracy was based on Capitalism, and will be into the future. Strong elements of socialism, such as social security, have worked into the national system of government, and strengthening those elements will be a commitment of New America. 

But, Socialism is ... a gateway to fourth or fifth or sixth place in the current political landscape. Not first place. 

The DSA members are very active in many parts of the nation, and have the ability to mobilize the community for protests such as in favor of the Palestinian community. And, that is going to be very helpful into the future.

New America is interested in making many of the same changes to society as the DSA, but recognizes the need to win to make those changes happen - win at the top.

We want to win in Congress and then the White House.
